Prints of London

London's architectural drama and ever-changing light make it an endlessly rewarding subject for architectural sketching. The city is, unexpectedly, quite friendly to artists, I have managed to perch in some quite unusual places, like my shelter by a lamppost on a traffic island to sketch Pall Mall, or in a doorway to capture the Admiralty Arch. I love the fragments of the old city now held like flies in amber as the taller towers and modern architecture grows around them.
